This has to be one of the BEST tavern restaurants I’ve ever dined at! Twice we’ve been there. I get the fish sandwich, fries are house cut with skins, Jonathan got the pastrami once and loved it! The Clam chowder was delicious. And he’s got the burger (medium rare. Truly cooked to perfection!) Oysters 🦪 on the half shell.. YUMMY no sand! We loved it so much we got my mother in-law a gift certificate for her birthday in May. No keno, but I’m cool with that. We sat at the bar. Full bar, sports, a fancy dining room in the front in a bright sunny room, booths available too. Hostess all day. The food that comes out of that kitchen is a rubber neck bender! I absolutely recommend the ride and MOST definitely the food, staff are friendly and knowledgeable, I love how the chef/ manager brings out the food too. I was FULL and my mouth was STILL watering thinking about what I had on the way home. Easy to get to. One road off exit 20. (Y’all know I’m a major food critic. So, you KNOW it’s amazing!) My husband and I were looking for a cozy spot to have a warm meal and this place really hit the spot. Great food, cozy atmosphere and wonderful service. The food came out fast, hot and delicious. We started off with the calamari. For entrees we got a burger and I chose the shrimp with bucatini (absolutely delicious). We will definitely be back for another date night!

Excellent food and drink, especially enjoyed the fish tacos and watermelon salad with mojitos to top off a perfect meal. Easy on line reservations, pretty nautical decor, plenty of parking. Adding to our favorites list.

Wife wanted to have dinner here as the menu was almost 100% gluten free. She had braised short ribs with graten potatoes and I have the haddock and chips. The food was really great! Would recommend even if your not gluten free. No issues what so ever. We will be going back again and again.

I was back in Duxbury for the first time in a while, and the first time since it was the Milepost, visiting family. I stopped in here a couple times and had great food and great service. I came here on nights when I was solo looking for more of a snack that a full meal so sat at the bar and there was a great atmosphere-good conversations with people around me every night. I can’t eat gluten anymore so had to be pretty selective with what I ate and found something great every time-great oysters, bacon wrapped scallops, and gluten free subsidies were good too. Bar staff was super friendly and remembered my drink order after only meeting me once. This will definitely be a go to whenever I come back.

We had a great night out at Bluefish River Tavern. The atmosphere is warm and lively without being too loud — perfect for a date night, dinner with friends, or bringing the family. The tuna tomahawk special was outstanding, and the cocktails were excellent. Plenty of parking and consistently great food make this a spot we’ll definitely return to.

After being stuck in a hotel for a few days with no power and some pretty bland takeout options, me and the fiancé decided to get a “go-to” favorite of ours and what a fulfilling meal it was. Credit to the chef for having the lamb shank on the menu! My absolute favorite meal and tough to find. What a treat, delicacy and absolutely delicious. Perfect meal with mushroom risotto and asparagus 🤌 and they do the best job with celiac and gluten free options for my fiancé. We always have a good meal and always feel safe here. A+ guys!

4 of us came to dinner Steak tips Chicken buratta Fish and chips Baked haddock Everything was perfect! Service impeccable! Olivia was so sweet and funny most of all Very professional! Our friends had never been. They were very impressed! Thank you for a great night!

This small establishment boasts a great menu. I had the pleasure of trying all of the dishes in the photographs. Each dish was seasoned to perfection. The portions (these were lunch) were plentiful. The salmon was topped with a cranberry chutney that glazed the fish with a tart sweetness that complimented the creamy Parmesan risotto. The desserts were sharable in size and each one phenomenal. The chocolate lava cake had a deep chocolate flavor, not overly sweet. The creme brulee cracked with a glass like top and and had a light silky texture. Too many good words to share. Just treat yourself or someone you love. This location will not disappoint.

Tried this place for the first time at the recommendation of a friend and so glad I did! Came here for lunch on a Sunday and it was buzzing of positive energy! We sat on the bar side, which was packed and lively. The more formal and family-oriented dining room side was also packed and cheery. Service was friendly and spot-on, and the food and drinks were great! I'll definitely be coming back!
